GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS

Public Policy & Government Relations

AGC New Mexico conducts a year-round government affairs program that pursues public policies and funding priorities to support a vigorous and sustainable construction industry across the state.

The chapter’s member firms collectively identify and prioritize public policy objectives and government affairs activities as a guide to the chapter’s executive management and staff.

AGC New Mexico member firms and chapter staff engage in state, local, and federal public policy discussions through relationship building with public officials and policy makers, strategic communication and outreach with business and community leaders, and targeted participation in the legislative, administrative, and budget processes.

Like the chapter’s member firms anticipating and responding to shifting market conditions in the construction industry, the government affairs program operates within a dynamic economic and political environment that requires practical responses to evolving circumstances. Therefore, the objectives and activities of the chapter’s public policy initiatives are rooted in ongoing communications among chapter members and with decision makers. The chapter’s priorities and positions are driven by member needs and tangible results.
