AGC New Mexico and Associated Contractors of New Mexico are pleased to announce the Second Annual Heavy Equipment Rodeo & Job Fair hosted at ACE Leadership High School.

The hands-on event will introduce to students what it means to be a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator, how to effectively inspect equipment, and reduce equipment abuse. More than 150 students and many industry professionals attended last year to watch high school and college students test their skills and operate various machines.

Students are given the perfect opportunity to start building their network with industry employers and professionals. In addition, students will try their skills with heavy equipment through many fun obstacles and simulators.

One participating student will win a $2, 500 scholarship to LUNA Community CollegeSafety Zone Credentialing LLC. will be awarding the $2,500 scholarship in Specialized Heavy Equipment Operations (HEO) Training. Participants will be screened for eligibility requirements the morning of the simulator competition. The scholarship's goal is to provide training for successful completion of Journey-Level Certification and will include an NCCER Certified Plus credential in HEO.
