A BIM implementation is only as good as the capabilities of the people implementing it, and it is even more successful when team members collaborate. In addition to rapid-fire technology demonstrations and BIMForum updates, this 2-day program will feature over 20 presentations covering the full breadth of the human side of BIM and collaboration, through 6 different themes, including:

Firm Culture - Firms develop a culture over time that supports how they work. How does the implementation of BIM structure and process affect a firm’s purpose, operating principles and objectives for excellence?

Change Management - Changing a fundamental business process requires a plan. What are the strategies for managing the smooth transition to BIM where firm organization, knowledge structures, business relationships and other management approaches must adapt?

Generational Gap - Different generations of employees understand and implement technology differently. To what extent is technology change a function of staff generation? Is there a meaningful distinction in implications between, for example, aging baby-boomer firm leaders and Generation Y emerging professionals?

Training & Education - New tools and new processes require education. But how effective is training? What is the best way to plan, deliver, and follow through BIM training and education? This session will cover these strategies with perspectives from across the industry.

Motivation - Intrinsically motivated individuals outperform extrinsically motivated individuals. This session will apply known motivational frameworks to BIM adoption, so that project teams can better tap into their most important resource: people.

Project Teams - The heart of the AECO industry is project teams that span companies and disciplines. This session will highlight validated practices that support teams throughout the full lifecycle: forming, storming, norming, performing, and the finally adjourning.
