Economic Debrief w/ Ken Simonson

During our recent Member Luncheon, AGC New Mexico provided an economic update to attendees. The luncheon included outlooks for the future as well as analysis from AGC's Chieft Economist Ken Simonson regarding the current economic landscapes.

In an interview with Albuquerque Business First, Simonson said New Mexico is lagging because of the state’s reliance on government funding for projects, as budgets at all levels of government shrink. Other issues affecting new construction projects include the trend of consumers switching from stores to online buying and employers taking up less office space, he said.
