Call for Volunteers

Dear AGC Member,

Join your colleagues and respond to our Call for Volunteers.

AGC Members develop lasting relationships and business by their volunteer work.

AGC Best Building Advisors and Councils with volunteer opportunities include:

Best Buildings:

Looking for those who have a desire to improve our annual Best Buildings Celebration.

  • Encourage members and industry participation in the event; We need communication enthusiasts who want to inspire support from others about their award winning projects.

Purpose and design

The prestigious Best Buildings contest is one of New Mexico’s highly respected construction industry recognition events.  Unlike most building award contests, the Best Buildings nominees are judged on the complexity of the construction process and challenges including budget, site constraints, schedule, and project delivery method.  We know that AGC Members are constructing the Best Buildings in our state, and this event provides an opportunity to celebrate that excellence.

This premier awards celebration is also an opportunity for owners, contractors, architects and community leaders to meet socially and celebrate their collective contributions to the built environment.

A Variety of ways to Support this Award Winning Celebration

Submit an entry, purchase a table or event sponsorship – All proceeds after expenses fund the AGC Opportunity Assistance Fund for ACE Leadership High School Students needing aide to stay in high school.

Construction Leadership Council (CLC):

The Construction Leadership Council (CLC) was established to fulfill the need to cultivate the next generation of leaders in the construction industry. The purpose of the CLC is to act as a conduit for contractors, architects, engineers and design professionals to network, exchange ideas about work and the industry, serve local communities and develop leadership skills.

CLC Committee members serve a two-year term and attend monthly committee meeting. Your involvement must be supported by your employer.

Community Involvement

  • ACE Leadership High School: The committee will have continued curriculum involvement with ACE.  Aligning our profession with the curriculum taught at ACE includes, but are not limited to, holding monthly meetings at the school, judging student exhibits and attending school functions.
  • University of New Mexico/AGC Student Chapter: Grow your leadership skills by participating in a one-year mentorship opportunity to the UNM construction management/architecture/engineering students.

Human Resource Council (HR):

This council brings together HR Professional members of AGC Commercial Construction organizations in a quarterly meeting to address the educational, networking, and knowledge needs of these members. The council provides networking opportunities, operates a listserv; recommends National AGC resources, and disseminates the latest trends affecting management of HR.
